About National Education Society, Shivamogga
The Society with the zeal and dedication of senior leaders of the district like Mr. S. Vidyaranaya Murthy, Ex. Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, Mr. S. R. Kanthi Rajappa, Former Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Mundkur Raghavendra Rao, Mr. S. E. Jayaram Shetty and Mr. S. Brahmananda Murthy, Senior Advocates, Mr. S. Narayana Rao, Senior, and a general public who worked hard to build the institution as founders to achieve the objectives of the Mahatma. The Society started independently managing High School in the district during field and constructed its own building with public assistance. With so far no government aid started education institutions opened the first Girls High School in the district in 1954 and gradually opened educational institutions in and around of the district to retain the needs of rural people.

Celebrated Golden Jubilee and dedicated a statue to Mr. S. Nijalingappa, a man who devoted his life to the development of the society

Expanded to professional education with Engineering and Arts colleges

Established National Public School Shivamogga

Many eminent leaders and administrators have visited the National Education Society and have blessed by appreciating the dedicated service of the Society. Among them are Dr. Rajendra Prasad, former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, President of India, Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Former Prime Minister of India, Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar, former Maharaja of Mysore, Sri Vinoba Bhave, a great leader of Sarvodaya movement, Acharya Kriplani, leader of Gandhian Movement are a few among them.
